NCP calls on CEO’s of Dutch mne's:

'Do commit to the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises'

Today the Dutch National Contact Point (NCP) sent a letter to 39 CEO's of Dutch stock listed companies, asking them to commit publicly to the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises on responsible business conduct.

A report conducted by the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO) showed that 18 of 60 researched Dutch multinationals publicly commit to the OECD Guidelines. The NCP calls upon the other CEO's to also start committing to the OECD Guidelines.

The NCP stresses the importance of the CEO's personal attention to a good CSR practice within the company.

The NCP's letter is an answer to questions companies posed during the research interviews of VBDO. The letter also gives information about the importance of the Guidelines, advantages for companies and how to commit.

Finally the NCP proposes to meet with the Board and talk about the OECD Guidelines and CSR.
