Melanie Peters new NCP member

Dr. ir. Melanie Peters has been appointed as a new member of the Netherlands National Contact Point for OECD-Guidelines for multinational enterprises. She will be a new member starting last August 1st 2014 for the next four years. This was declared by Minister Ploumen.

‘The appointment is a great honor. The Netherlands NCP in relation to The OECD Guidelines is an important institution because it elaborates the current Guidelines’, Peters states. ‘The mediating and learning nature of the NCP is an important addition to current regulations. Within this field I hope to deploy my experience within several sectors of society.’

Peters is currently CEO Studium Generale and also lectures Liberal Art and Sciences at Utrecht University. Additionally, she is a member of the Management Team of the Center of Science and is responsible for the strategy, conduct and relations with the Utrecht city council. Peters is the successor of Mr. Frans Evers who was NCP member and chair from 2007 until July 1st 2014.

‘As a member of the NCP I hope to increase the awareness of the OECD-Guidelines and The Netherlands NCP through interaction with various players in society’, Peters explains about her ambitions. ‘Production chains extend worldwide nowadays and therefore I would like to make the NCP more approachable through collaborations with international NCPs, NGOs and multinationals.’
