On 2 April 2026, the Dutch National Contact Point (NCP) published its initial assessment of the notification submitted by the Asamblea Campesina, PAX and SOMO concerning Vattenfall regarding alleged violations of the OECD Guidelines.

The notification concerns alleged violations linked to Vattenfall’s Colombian coal supply chain, in which other companies are allegedly involved in ongoing adverse human rights impacts, in particular the forced displacement of more than 59,000 individuals from farming communities in Cesar, Colombia. The notifying party argues that Vattenfall did not adequately conduct human rights due diligence with respect to the risks associated with this supply chain.

The NCP concludes that the notification meets the criteria for further consideration and has offered its good offices to the parties involved. Both parties have accepted this offer.

The NCP emphasizes that the initial assessment does not imply any finding as to whether Vattenfall has acted in accordance with the OECD Guidelines.
